Close up

Normally shows a characters head and sholders. It is a good shot for showing facial expression.

Medium Shot

Shows a character form the central body or waist upwards.

Medium Wide Shot

Normally shows a character from their knees upwards. The shot also shows the setting and surrounding of the character, but still close enough to show any facial expression.

Wide shot

A full body shot of a character form head to toe.

Extreme Wide Shot

A good shot for showing scale and fill geographical surroundings to a character.

Subsidiary Task

The main audience of my magazine are all sixth form students. The title of my magazine is ‘Engage’. I called it this because is gives the idea that by reading the magazine, sixth formers will be engaged in their surroundings and community. Ion my front cover, my main image is the new sixth form centre, this being a key point for discussion in one of the magazines leading articles. At the bottom of the cover I have also included pictures of students, looking very happy. This makes the magazine more appealing as its ‘Happy’. My main article is on the double page spread ‘So why did we choose chew valley?’ this presents sixth formers in a positive light and gives them the opportunity to feel good about themselves and their community, therefore making the magazine more appealing.

The First task is to create a front cover and double page spread of a magazine aimed at sixthformers. In preparation for the task, i have conducted research into teen magazines.

Induction to media : Speed meeting

- To me, media is moving information from one source to a general source.

- I have chosen to study media because i enjoy the subject, and also because it is one of the leading factors in everyday life.
